Hello, It's almost the end of a semester so I would like to share a few bits of experience, special for my fellow on the English Department, surviving one of the hardest course

Few reasons why the course hard is because the lecturer (Mrs. Arie) is very strict, and gives many life or death assignments.

Thus I think it would be great content to give you information about what did I do when I was taught by this lecturer on this course. I did all these things to survive and got good grades:

1. Read the Syllabus, Prepare hard

If you are given the syllabus, learn it! Understand what are you going to learn and learn it in advance on YouTube. Take initiative, don't wait for her to come to your class and ask you kinds of stuff (such as Shakespeare's work, who was the first queen of England, etc.) Here is a hint, she doesn't actually teach much about the topic in class. Most of the time, she usually only gives an outline of the topic or talk about other things

2. Take notes

When you are watching YouTube or perhaps you read books, remember to put important information neatly to your notes because in the class she will ask you a random pop quiz and gives bonus points if you answer correctly. I have to emphasize, these bonus points will be your lifesaver. You won't have a hard time answering it as long as you actually learn about the topic. She knows which students actually do study and who doesn't.

3. Never plagiarize

If you are given an assignment that is in the form of paper, please don't be lazy. This is a matter of life and death. One plagiarism and you have to re-do all over. Search in YouTube, Google, ask, or check out my tips how to not plagiarize ;)

I also did another post about how to search for good resources for your paper.

4. Do not procrastinate

She will regularly give you assignment for every week, her assignments are divided into obligated assignments and bonus points assignments. My suggestion is to finish the obligated one as fast as you can and then made the added assignments. Bonus points are so important because her middle and final test questions are ridiculously hard. Even if you already study every topic, you will still find these questions difficult.

That's all the tips from me, good luck with your study!
